Yankee Magazine $500 Mark and Graham Giveaway

Happy Memorial Day Weekend! I’ve partnered with Mark & Graham and Yankee Magazine to offer you a chance to enter to win a $500 Mark & Graham gift card! I’ll link to the giveaway landing page at the end of this post.

Recently, I joined Yankee Magazine’s Kate Hathaway Weeks at her Cape Cod home to style up the ultimate New England Lobster Bake Backyard Bash. Bringing some of my favorite coastal entertaining pieces from Mark & Graham, I created an elevated outdoor table that is elegant yet ready for cracking some claws.

Here’s scenes from our coastal Cape Cod backyard bash and I will link the summer coastal entertaining pieces for you that are available on the Mark & Graham site now.

The Table Setting

I used a trio of bamboo cache pots to hold fresh cut hydrangea blooms for a simple yet elegant arrangement. At each place setting, I used a raffia placemat , glass shell dinner plate, glass shell side plate, blue seersucker napkin, bamboo flatware, and a hand-woven cane stemless wine glass. I placed the matching hand-woven cane pitcher on the table to fill the water goblets. Also, I added a Turkish herringbone throw over the backs of each bamboo chair for guests to stay warm if the evening became chilly.

The Beverage Station

Using a couple of garden stools and a butler’s tray, I fashioned a beverage station for guests to help themselves to some summer refreshment. Soda bottles are kept cold in the bamboo party bucket, and wine stayed chilled in the silver and wicker ice bucket.

The Seafood Bar

I set up a serving table on the deck for a little oyster platter and for guests to help themselves to rolls and appetizers before the seated meal. The silver shell seafood platter was a nice touch to serve the oysters. For extra lobsters, mussels, and sides, I kept them on a bamboo platter that could easily be carried over to the table for extra helpings. Personalized lobster bibs were a nice touch for guests who didn’t want to get anything on their clothing while dining. Also, for extra plates (and great for kids) I added the melamine bamboo plates set up buffet style.

The Conversation Area

Also, on the deck around the seating area, I added a little cocktail bar for making Cape Codders. The silver boat bar cocktail set I had engraved with Cape Codder for an extra festive touch.

Hostess Gift Ideas

I wanted to share some great gift ideas to bring to your next summering gathering. I love a personalized gift and popping your host’s favorite wine in a monogrammed wine tote is a great idea. I picked out the lighthouse wine tote for our coastal gathering. A personalized market bag is another great idea for all those summer trips to the farmer’s market. I love this hand-painted canvas tote with leather handles. I think monogrammed aprons for your friends that love to cook are always a great gift too. If you want to get something really special for your friend’s beach house, may I recommend the silver and wicker entertaining gift set. It includes a tray and ice bucket and you can personalize each piece.

Don’t Forget the Lawn Games

No backyard summer bash would be complete without some fun lawn games. The lacquer bean bag toss is always a hit! Makes a great gift too.
