Favorite Purchases of August 2024

The last week of the month is upon us, which brings a more structured busy to our family life. Besides purchasing a lot of school uniforms, spirit wear, and school supplies…here’s what I found that I loved this August.

A few end of the summer sale finds and a few things to replace and update my fall wardrobe. With back to school season here, I’m dreaming of all things fall. Soccer games, the crisper air, and the return of my favorite clothing season…

Here’s my favorite purchases of August…

What I’m Loving this Month…

one

Summer Sale Finds | I added some more coral to our shelves in our living room while these decorative coral pieces were on final sale for the season.

Also, I had been eyeing this navy nautical cable knit sweater forever and decided to get it while it was on sale.

J. Crew’s end of the summer sale offers some really good mark downs, and I picked up a couple of shirts to wear now and next spring and summer. I really like this blue ruffle linen shirt and this blue ruffle long sleeve shirt. The long sleeve I can wear this fall too.

Fall Closet Prepping | Every back to school season, I go through all our closets and see what needs to be replaced. I had a pretty silk blouse that has a stain that won’t come out, so I wanted to find a replacement. This crepe de chine tie neck ruffle collar blouse is really similar to one I loved wearing. I pre-ordered it, and it will arrive soon.

Also, I reordered these tall leather boots. I have had this exact pair for so many years–I think maybe 10 years or more. After I broke my foot and had surgery a couple of years back, I need a half size bigger in every shoe I own. I’m slowly replacing as needed.

These straight leg corduroy pants come in tall and are back in stock. I ordered another color for this season. I have 3 pairs from last year that I wore all the time. The length is just right and I like the fit in the legs.

When I was going through our fall totes, I could not find my sweater stone, so added this sweater stone brush to my order too.

A Few New Things for Fall | I am such a fall fashion person through and through. The layering, textures, and patterns of the season are some of my favorites of all time. The autumnal colors too.

I donate every season when I go through my closet, and I like to add a few new things. Fall fashion always gets my pocket book more than any other time of year. Here’s what I ordered that caught my eye for this fall.

I love a vest for layering and this cashmere sweater vest will be a great layering staple.

These cotton twill trench coats are a perfect light layering piece. I really like the fabric and the fit. Not too boxy. They are a perfect weekend jacket.

I didn’t have many short sleeved shirts for fall and picked up this cute plaid puff sleeve top. Great price and I love the deeper colors.

I’m always trying to find jeans I like–it seems to be the toughest thing for me to find being so tall. So far this straight leg pair is a good find. They are so comfortable, but hold their shape. A good pair to wear with sneakers or flats.

This red and white striped mariner shirt was a budget find, and I love it under a blazer or on its own.

New Fall Accessories | I couldn’t pass up this houndstooth ball cap. I wear a lot of ball caps when I walk outdoors or go to soccer games. This one is a cutie for fall.

These crystal baguette hoops are really pretty. I love a small embellished hoop.

Also, this gold anchor chain necklace I couldn’t pass up.

That’s what ended up in my shopping cart this month. Are you as excited for fall as I am?

Happy Shopping!
