10 Fall Fashion Staples

Over the years, I’ve found the pieces that have longevity, and I reach for them often once the calendar flips to October. All of these I wear year after year. Some work year-round too. Here are ten fall fashion staples I personally find worth the money.

Barbour Highclere Hooded Waxed Jacket in Olive

BARBOUR HIGHCLERE WAXED JACKET

A couple of years ago, I added another Barbour jacket to my wardrobe. I’d been eyeing the (1.) Barbour Highclere Waxed Jacket in Olive, and decided this was the one I wanted to order because of its longer fit, corduroy collar, and tartan lining. This is one purchase I am so thrilled I made, because this jacket has held up so well, and I absolutely love the fit. I wear it constantly. The hood is detachable and the tartan lining is a nice touch. It’s a classic that looks good over sweaters, button downs, and your favorite pair of jeans. It’s quite warm without being bulky. The hood is nice, especially in the rain when running errands. It’s also available in black here.

L.L. BEAN BOOTS

There’s a reason why bean boots have been so popular over the years, and that’s because they are an all-weather boot that’s not only classic, but looks cute with so many outfits. I really appreciate that they are still hand-sewn in Maine. I have had this pair of (2.) Flannel Lined Bean Boots going on 9 years now, and they are in great shape. I haven’t had to replace them. Even the laces are still in great shape.

Every morning, I slip on these (3.) Bean Boot Rubber Moccasins when I let our dog, Zoey, out in the morning, and for our walk around the grounds. I leave them out all year, because I find them to be the perfect slip on for home, especially in dewy grass and wet grounds. I’ve had them going on 3 years now, and they’ve been a great addition. When I grab firewood in the winter, these are always what I slip on too. I find them extremely handy!

Also, I really like the (4.) Shearling Lined Bean Boots for winter. They provide extra insulation which keeps your toes warm in the snow.

A GREAT FISHERMAN SWEATER

I have to admit, I’m a huge fan of a great sweater. The fisherman style is such a classic, and fits in well with our surroundings here in New England. Over the years, I’ve had a few different ones, but I always go back to this (5.) Classic Fisherman Sweater from L.L. Bean. It’s soft and 100% cotton.

Recently, I wanted one with a slightly more relaxed fit, and I absolutely recommend this (6.) Ivory Galway Fisherman Sweater. It’s a wool blend, and the weave is so good. It’s done really well.

M. GEMI DANZA FLAT

I love a good flat, but sometimes I find them extremely uncomfortable. Not the case here with the (7.) M. Gemi Danza Flat. I’ve had this pair of Tan Leather Danza Flats for a few years. It’s my favorite. The leather is so soft, and the slight hidden wedge just adds the right touch. I wear these so much with ankle jeans.

SAM EDELMAN HORSEBIT LOAFER

A comfortable leather loafer is essential in the fall and winter wardrobe, is it not? There are so many good ones, but one that I find most comfortable is also offered at such a great price point. (8.) The Sam Edelman Lorraine Bit Loafer wins in my book. I have this one in a few options, but the Terrazo Brown Leather is a great place to start. The leather is buttery soft, and the leather padded insole really makes them one of the most comfortable loafers out there. It’s a designer look for less.

NAVY DIANA BLAZER

Another staple in my fall wardrobe is (9.) Tuckernuck’s Navy Diana Blazer. I find a classic blazer so versatile. I love the tailored fit, and the brass buttons. I wear this dressed up over a vest and skirt, or dressed more casual with jeans. It looks great either way.

RALPH LAUREN OXFORD

A blue cotton oxford that I keep going back to is the (10.) Ralph Lauren Slim Fit Oxford. They just hold up and fit so well with their numeric sizing options. I have had the same one for 10 years, and it hasn’t worn out. I do dry clean this one, which I think helps with it holding up so well too.

Over the years, these are the key pieces I reach for the most, and I have gotten the most wear out of each season. Throw in your favorite pair of jeans, and you have a starter kit for your fall wardrobe. I will always choose classic over trendy, and these have all stood the test of time too. Mixing and matching these pieces works so well, and I always feel I look polished and put together when I wear them.

Happy Fall!
