Happy November! This month my editor notes are filled with so much festive goodness! I can’t wait to share more about the notes below as this month unfolds. Here in New England, we ended October with a blanket of snow and stocked our homes with firewood for the colder temperatures. Is the snow a harbinger of what November has in store for us weather-wise here? I’m not sure, but one thing I am sure of is that my thoughts have gone to the holidays. With things getting extra cozy around here and the holidays just over 3 weeks away, I am getting excited for that most festive time of year. Thanksgiving through New Years Day is a time I treasure most with my loved ones.
In years past, I would plan a trip away over our Christmas break, but this year I’m waiting and watching what will unfold as we get through this election year. The uncertainty of what will happen with this pandemic has curtailed my holiday travel planning—at least for the moment. With that said, I do have some safe travels on the calendar this month and I will definitely plan a family night in Essex and a visit to the Ocean House this holiday season. Those places are close to home and offer some outdoor fun too!
Here’s what is in store for November…

NANTUCKET I am joining some friends for an early holiday “pals and pups getaway” at The Nantucket Hotel. My friends and I have pretty much been quarantining together through this pandemic and I’m looking forward to a little bonus travel with them this month. We will be there for 3 nights sharing safety measures in place at the hotel, pet-friendly accommodations, and some early holiday fun at the hotel. We’ll get to safely travel to outdoor locations on the island too and show you what local businesses are doing to keep open and everyone safe this season.

A FESTIVE & FUN BRAND SHOOT I will be joining a New England brand I love for a little holiday tree farm shoot. I love working on these projects with fellow creatives and I can’t wait to share it all.
HOLIDAY APPAREL FOR THANKSGIVING & CHRISTMAS I’m working with a few preppy staple brands and a couple of small shops to share some holiday looks just in time for your festive gatherings. Our get-togethers may be a bit smaller and different this year, but it’s all the more the excuse to dress the part. We always dress up for holiday dinners at home and it makes things extra fun and festive for our family. Especially when we can’t travel and see our loved ones back in the Midwest.

FRIENDSGIVING I’m kicking off the holiday sharing with a fun outdoor Friendsgiving with Christmas Tree Shops. I’ll share my tips on how to elevate your table decor and key pieces to use for a more casual gathering. Perfect for at home celebrations too.
GIFT GUIDES We are starting our holiday shopping early this year and I will put together a few gift guides to help you as you plan your shopping this season.
THANKSGIVING TABLE I love designing up a new tablescape for every holiday for our traditional dinners at home. I’ll share this year’s Thanksgiving table.
More than ever, we are looking to our homes for comfort this season. I wish you all safety, health, and happiness as we navigate through this all. There is so much I find myself being thankful for these days.
