August is here and with that comes the last glorious weeks of true summer for me. I know the calendar says summer lasts until September 23, but in just 4 short weeks my boys will be back in school and sports. We savor every moment of our New England summer and August is calling for more coastal trips and family fun!

Here’s what is on my radar for this month…

T R A V E L

  • Lake Champlain, Vermont— We will be heading up to Basin Harbor Inn to enjoy a family trip filled with a dock side lobster boil, cottage living, and time exploring and playing on beautiful Lake Champlain.

  • Glamping in Maine— Labor Day Weekend is a wonderful time for drives along coastal Maine. We’ll be stopping and visiting some of our favorite southern Maine stops and then up to the woods for some family glamping fun. Bring on the bonfires, hiking, and lake views. I can’t wait to experience this little adventure!

  • Sailor Sailor Clothing— I am loving all the coastal prints this brand offers. Coastal chic dresses, tops, and skirts.

  • Tyler Boe— The pre-fall apparel offerings are so classic and cute. Green and blue stripes and plaid tops, rain jackets, and dresses. I am loving the bright pops of color.

  • Back to School—Once the school year begins, I know it’s still summer, but it feels more like the wind down to fall for me. My eyes start to focus inside on the home more and I want to get everything ready for the busy school year ahead. I’ll be sharing a few home interior posts with you in August as I add a few new touches.

G O A L S

  • End of Summer Goals— Visit the sunflower farm, eat more lobster, more water time— be it canoeing, swimming, or boating…oh, and ice cream…we gotta have more ice cream!

  • Lighthouse Visits— Some of my favorite lighthouses just happen to be on the drive up to our glamping trip and they’ll make the perfect place to stop and stretch our legs.

  • Beach Days— Gotta fit in some more beach days before school starts.

August always makes me want to squeeze every last drop of summer out of the weeks ahead. I do welcome the change in season with my favorite (FALL!!) coming up next, but summer is when we can really invest quality time together as a family before the schedules get crazy again.

Until next time,

Kristy
