Bon Weekend

E D I T I O N

no. 1

How was your Mother’s Day Weekend? We were so low key here, which was actually really nice. I read books, the boys’ ordered take out so I didn’t have to cook, and on Sunday we had a Harry Potter movie marathon. The weather was so odd though. Windy and it snowed off and on. It was sunny and Topher was out mowing the grass and then huge white flakes were coming down sideways in the sunshine!

We are the types that like to do an activity or gift an experience for holidays and birthdays, but this time around being on a stay at home order, the boys gifted me a few new items off my warm weather shopping list. The idea behind the gifts is they are things I can use on vacation in Nantucket…which, OF COURSE, I love!

Here’s some highlights from the weekend from my phone and photos my oldest took with his hobby camera…

This weekend’s uniform was my favorite Ralph Lauren oxford paired with an old striped over-sized sweater similar here, and my comfy broken in jeans. The needlepoint flag slippers are one of the gifts the boys surprised me with and they are so comfy. I’ve been wearing them around the house to break them in, but I don’t think they really need it—they fit like a glove. I can’t wait to wear these somewhere fun.

Another sight to see over the weekend, are the trees on our property in full bloom. It makes having to stay at home a little more pleasant. We had real snow with our spring snow on Saturday 😉

The boys also surprised me with a few more gifts sticking to their theme. I think these will all be perfect for Nantucket in July. Comfy shoes are a must! I remember my Mom wearing Tretorns growing up, and I love that they still make them now with more eco-friendly materials.

My mask I ordered from The Preppy Stitch arrived over the weekend too. If you got to wear a mask, you might as well make it cute!

All and all, it was a lovely Mother’s Day. I got to have a few long phone calls with my Mom. It was really relaxing and the boys made sure I didn’t have to cook or clean anything. I felt quite spoiled with their surprise gifts too.

I hope you all got to enjoy celebrating the Moms in your lives. We have a few more Harry Potter movies to watch that we might finish up during the weeknights this week. We made it to Prisoner of Azkaban, so I think we’ll finish up by the weekend…maybe.

Stay safe!

Until next time,
