Summer Sale Shopping…

With vacations and summer unofficially here now, we recently took the family out for a shopping day. Personally, I updated a lot of basics and I found a great rug for our living room.

It’s been about 7-10 years since I shopped for new summer shorts, so I took advantage of the great sales going on right now. I found some good ones, and now have an ample rotation for the warmer months.

Also, Gap is having a huge summer sale, so it was a great time to replace some basic items like running tank tops, shorts, and casual pieces. Gap and J. Crew have been awesome for basics lately! They always have a good sale going on too. I love to look there first, because they offer tall sizing in so many things. Many of the shorts, dresses, and jumpsuits at Gap have tall sizing, which you don’t find many places. So, if you are over 5’9″, I’d recommend checking them out.

What I’m loving from this month…

Amazon Finds | I found our new living room rug on Amazon. It looks so good in our space and it was a great price–under $500 for a 9x 12. We have a dog and boys, and this is one works well for high traffic areas.

Also, I ordered a couple of these glass lined to-go tumblers. They are the shape of a Stanley cup, but I like the glass for iced coffee drinks. I ordered more of these glass straws and they fit in our Stanley cups and these glass tumblers.

The Gap Sale | Gap has a great sale going on for summer right now. I stocked up on these shorts (come in tall rise), these work out tank tops (talls available), and found some really cute extras. This red and white shirtdress , striped collared sweater (size down 1-2 sizes), and this denim jumpsuit all are available in tall, petite, and reg. Even these cute shorts are offered in tall. So, if you need a little extra length in the rise, I’d suggest trying these.

Polo Ralph Lauren | Classic and never out of style. We have a good Polo Ralph Lauren store close by, so we all stocked up on some polos, sweaters, and shirts. I always love a Polo cable knit sweater and their oxfords. These are pieces I layer all year long, and in summer I pair them with shorts or over tops when the coastal temps drop later in the day.

J. Crew Must-Haves | I loved this blue and white sailor sweater, so I added that to my summer cardigan collection. Also, that coastal striped shirt and matching short will make great travel clothes for our upcoming road trips this summer.

J. Crew Factory | Shorts, shorts, shorts! I ordered an array of shorts, because I had J. Crew points and they were marked down so much. Also, J. Crew Card members get an extra 20% their order right now at J. Crew Factory and J. Crew.

Vineyard Vines Shep Shirts | I picked up a couple more VV Dreamcloth Shep Sweatshirts. They are a great summer layer for sailing and nights by the water. This red, white, and blue striped one is a new favorite.

LOFT finds | Loft has some really cute summer pieces right now on sale! One of my favorite dresses of summer so far is this red picnic plaid dress. I love the fabric, it’s lined, has pockets and is offered in tall sizing too. Also, these navy linen wide leg pants look so flattering on. They also have talls. Perfect with a tank top or striped shirt. The buckle strap espadrilles are another good find for summer. All on sale now.

Draper James x Tretorn | I couldn’t resist getting these red and navy Tretorns. One of my favorite sneakers always. They are so comfy!
