Inside Our Home Dressed for Fall

I love how our homes ebb and flow with each changing season. These walls give us calm, a place to enjoy our families, and warmth in the coldest of months. As fall arrives, we cozy up our interiors, and decorate our front doors for the season.

Once autumn graces Foxhill House, I rethink our most utilized spaces. A summer throw gets swapped out for a heavier blanket. The coastal nods in our interiors are a constant, but I mix in more warm woods like burl wood and cherry tables. Horn, tortoise, and leather decor accents play on our tabletops. I love seeing our antiques we’ve collected over the years, and many that were stored for summer become useful once again like our brass horse head fireplace tools.

In the weeks ahead, I may add a wool rug and store the jute one for spring and summer, or add in some great plaid pillows. I like to leave that to what catches my eye naturally. Here is what I’ve reworked at our home to cozy up for the season…

We have a lot of curb appeal changes we want to make to our home’s exterior for this renovation, but right away I added the fox door knocker and a pair of boxwood topiaries that we can enjoy now.

“Home is a name, a word, it is a strong one; stronger than magician ever spoke, or spirit ever answered to, in the strongest conjuration.”

― Charles Dickens
