Ever since moving out to New England, we have been collecting little decor pieces from our trips on the coast. I love to add these coastal touches throughout our home. Happy little reminders of our favorite journeys so far. We shop in a lot of antique or second hand stores for some things, but you can get some great coastal touches online too. I’ll share some of my favorite picks today and some small shops that we love that have an online marketplace.
ONE monkey fist TWO model America’s Cup ship THREE ship bell FOUR hand soap FIVE coasters SIX stool SEVEN book EIGHT mirror NINE basket
Most of the above we have in our home and LOVE! The monkey fist door stop is not only a nice textural touch, but practical if you live in an old home and have some wayward doors. We picked up a couple of model ships on one of our trips to Newport and I love them. The ship’s bell we use as a dinner bell and our youngest loves to ring it when it’s time to eat. That Swedish Dream hand soap is a favorite and I just restocked it. It smells as close as I can get to the sweet salt air in ‘Sconset. Mystic Knotwork coasters are a favorite around here and we have them in several colors. I’ve been eyeing those Serena & Lily counter stools for our kitchen since we are down to one! A couple of ours didn’t quite make the move, so I need to purchase some new ones. A good coffee table book is always a nice touch and this is a good one. Last but not least, the Pottery Barn beachcomber baskets are the best!! I love them and always recommend them.

These are not in any order. Some are small shops and some are more main stream. A few I follow on Instagram and love what they share from their shops. Some of these we have visited and purchased from on trips and they have online shopping.

Those are just a few off the top of my head as I look around my home. I think you can add coastal or nautical touches to your home in a subtle and not so theme-y way that is quite lovely and works with what you have already selected for your space. I do love a nautical kids space and would be theme-y all the way if my boys were younger. I think the best spaces are always the collected spaces. When things have a story or meaning behind them they are authentically you.
That’s all for today! I’m starting a new series tomorrow to take us into the weekends.
Stay safe!
