October always begins my favorite time of the year. October, November, and December have always been my most treasured months. Birthdays, fall activities, and holidays make these months the most dear to me and my whole family looks forward to them. We just took our first trip up to Vermont for our annual apple orchard day and it kicked off this festive season for me.

Vermont— We just visited our favorite orchard in Vermont for our annual family apple orchard day. I’ll write up a post about it soon!

Connecticut— This year, Topher and I want to explore more of Connecticut this fall. Last year, we spent a lot of time up north which was wonderful, but we missed out getting to some areas on our list in our home state. We have a few areas we want to spend some time exploring, so we will just see want unfolds.

Deerfield, MA— I’m heading up to spend a day of fun with Yankee Candle and check out historic Deerfield.

Essex, CT— This beautiful CT shore town has over the past couple years become a favorite. I’ll be heading there soon to meet up with a friend and have some early fall fun.

Bedford, NY— At the end of the month, I’ll be meeting up with another friend and can’t wait to see this area in the season.

Being in the Moment— Life gets hectic at times for our family during the fall and winter months. Balancing all the boys’ activities, work, and other commitments keep us all doing a balancing act at times. My mind can quickly rush to my to-do list and what’s next. I’m making it a goal to ground myself and be present in what each day brings.

Pumpkin Time— Last year, we picked up some decorative pumpkins but got so busy we didn’t get our carving pumpkins!!! TOTAL MOM FAIL. The day before Halloween, I went searching around town for some and POOF! they were all gone!! Not going to make that same mistake this year and we are heading to get them this weekend.
That’s what I have for the rest of the month, and I am smiling ear to ear just with the daydream of fall activities we will be enjoying soon.
