This is our last week of school and I’m excited for our summer travels this year. Our first destination coming up soon is a vacation in Maine. We’ll be staying in Kennebunkport, but going to a few different areas during our time there. Our boys love it there, so it’s nice to take the whole family.

Here’s a few key things I’m packing for our summer vacation to Maine. I always pack a good mix of layers, because sometimes it’s warm and other days can be cooler. Also, rain gear is a good idea too, if you are venturing along the coast of Maine this summer. If you stay for a week or longer you could encounter a little summer rain shower.

We’ll be on the beach, going for oceanside walks, sailing, having dinners out, and exploring rocky shorelines. It’s good to bring a mix of footwear for all terrains and a variety of bags for different activities.

I love the Americana palette for summer and a mix of summer dresses, sweaters, and linen pants usually go with me to Maine. I’ll throw in some shorts and workout clothes too. Some days I end up wearing swimsuits and beach cover-ups during the daytime, and then wash up and head to a nice dinner in a summer dress with an optional sweater.

I’ll be back next week with some great beach gear and travel gear we are using on this trip and all summer long.
