I’m definitely an “autumn”…do you remember this from the ’80’s? The quizzes in the fashion mags and the color specialists who would do parties and help you know what colors look best on you based on your skin tone, eye color, and hair? I laugh in my head thinking about it, but it’s so true, I’m an autumn through and through. More than what the color wheel says though. Yes, autumnal colors are my jam, but also the season, being an October baby, and living in New England definitely confirm my autumness.

So, naturally when the new fall collections are released, I’m like a kid in the candy store loving all the tweeds, tartans, rich colors, and earth tones. I just changed over my closet since the weekend forecast says highs in the low 70’s…I’m so ready for all the fun of the season! I might be tempted to take the family to the orchard. I’ve been updating my wardrobe a bit this season too, and here are my favorite fall wardrobe pieces you can shop now and enjoy for years.
My Fall Favorites 2023
Each one of these I have added to my wardrobe or have from last season and they are back again. All look great on, pass the wear test, and some are higher quality slow fashion, but most are from my favorite retailers. I think it’s always important to invest in nice things and find a happy balance of more affordable, yet well made pieces. Honestly, so many are from J. Crew this year! Their fall collection really stepped it up compared to last year. It’s back to what I loved about it years ago. Things I like to splurge on are handbags, outerwear, blazers, and cashmere. Maybe a good boot too.
