Back to school shopping, trying to hold onto summer, secretly pining for autumn days full of cozy sweaters, crisp morning walks, and the crunch of leaves…August is definitely the Sunday of summer. I’m in ‘prep for the school year’ mode…so this next week is a busy one with resetting and deep cleaning the house, finishing up some home projects, and all the back to school shopping. Also, work gets busy with fall shoots, and those have just started this week. We’re almost back to tighter schedules, and I always change my routine the first couple of weeks before school starts back up. That way it doesn’t hit so hard when it all begins.
Since we are back to routine after a lovely summer of slow living, my WeekENDer blog posts are back every Friday. These are less polished, and more in the moment posts where I share things that have caught my eye–stuff like that.
So, here’s what caught my eye this week…
new fall drop at j.crew
My college kid popped into J. CREW with me to do some shopping, and they were setting the new fall collections. I saw the new pieces online, but definitely have some new favorites after seeing some of them in person. Loved the new 2025 Rollneck Cotton Sweaters, and the Vintage Flare Cords. The sweaters are a very relaxed fit and so cozy. They only had pink in the cords, so I just slipped them on for size. I just ordered them in a tall inseam in a different color along with some other new favorites. I did scoop up that rollneck, because I know I’ll wear it a lot this fall.

Here’s the roll-neck sweater in the photo above. You can shop all my J. CREW favorites from the new fall drop here.
this clutch

We were in Newport last weekend, and I carried this bamboo & white woven clutch to dinner. Such a cute one, and it looks great with earthy tones and navy.
red light therapy mask
When we returned from our July of travels, I caught up on opening up some packages that arrived while we were away. I just started using this Omnilux Red Light Therapy Mask, and I’ll let you know details once I’ve used it for a few months. I’ve heard such good things about them for anti-aging and collagen production.

Omnilux Red Light Therapy Mask
Wishing you all a successful start to the new school year if you have kids heading back to school. It always makes me a little sad when the kids are back, but part of me craves the structure.
