In my opinion, fall in New England would not be fall in New England without a road trip to Vermont or New Hampshire. The mountains make for the most picturesque foliage and I look forward to planning out a trip every season!
Recently, I joined some friends for a little Vermont fall fun and here’s some images from our time exploring the Northeast Kingdom and beyond!
We ventured our way up through Vermont to meet up with our friend, Shannon, at a beautiful lake house. Here are some stops we made on the way up for Part One of this Vermont Fall Road Trip Adventure!
First though…can we just talk about this view at the lake house!?!
Stop #1 The Vermont Country Store in Rockingham, VT
Helen and I met up with Caitlin and Claire at the Vermont Country Store in Rockingham, VT. There are two Vermont Country Stores and the original is in Weston. I’ve been to both before and you can just say I’ve never met I country store I didn’t love! This one was on our route up so we stretched our legs, filled up on penny candy, and enjoyed the fall decorations around the grounds.
Stop #2 Cornish-Windsor Bridge
This is the longest wooden covered bridge in the United States and the sign above the entrance is quite a hoot! A little tip is to drive down past the bridge to the boat launch to get some nice views.
Stop #3 Lake Living in the Northeast Kingdom of VT
After weaving through beautiful countryside, the colors started to get more vibrant and we arrived in the Northeast Kingdom. While awaiting our friend, Shannon, we took in all the lake views! Just spectacular!
