Camp Foxhill | Coastal Bedroom Refresh

It’s been so nice to have time to work on some home projects despite the reason. During our COVID-19 stay at home order, I have been tackling that to-do list. Today, I am sharing my bedroom refresh with you. I have been wanting to add some coastal blues and frame some of my photography for our master bedroom here at Camp Foxhill for some time now. Finally, I got some of it done. Here’s a little walk through of our master and I’ll share all the bedding and pajama sources at the end of this post.

Let’s take a little tour around the room…

One of the major changes I made was to update our bedding. I love Crane & Canopy bedding and have used it for years. I decided to go for this pretty French Blue Linden Border duvet and shams. They now offer monogramming, so I had our initials added to the shams.

My vintage “nightstand” right now is actually a piece I want to use in my entry way. I found it at a resale shop a few years ago on the cheap. If I ever spend the time to source another one like it, I’d keep it by my bedside. I’m kicking around just buying a pair of nightstands, but I’m not sure yet.

I framed some of my favorite Nantucket photographs from our last visit. I’ve had requests on Instagram to offer my prints for sale, and I’m happy to report that is in the works. I’ll let you know when my print shop is live. It will be a few weeks as I finalize some particulars.

Another vintage dresser find in good shape. I found this one in the back of a resale shop…I think I paid a total of $75 for it. Steals and deals when I lived in the Midwest! I gave that dresser a fresh coat of glossy white paint and sealed it. The hardware needed a little TLC, so I stripped off all the old coats of paint and the brass gleams like brand new. It’s Bernhardt if you are doing a vintage furniture search.

In fact, every dresser, chair, and little table in this room is a vintage find. I love the quality of older furniture and the style fits my tastes so well. If I can find pieces with bamboo, rattan, caning, or campaign style details they tend to wander home with me.

These cozy navy blue pajamas I’m lounging in are also from Crane & Canopy. They are so soft and light. A great set for the warmer months.

Our master bedroom is pretty average sized for an older home and I love how bright it is. One of the charming features are the his and hers walk-in closets. I am drawn to old home details like this.

We are always lugging home shells and rocks in our beach bag. I enjoy setting them out on tables as little reminders of our fun times had on the coast.

I’m loving how this space has evolved. The bedding is the perfect jumping off point for the direction I want to go in here. I’m kicking around adding some ticking stripe to the headboard or on some sheeting. I’m toying with the idea of just doing an embroidered sheet set with the same blue, and keeping the headboard plain white twill. I love how fresh and serene it is right now.

I do smile every time I look at those Nantucket photos. I need to frame some more, but I am waiting on the enlargements to come in. I’m so excited to offer them for your home soon!

Golden hour struck right as I was wrapping this shoot and the light was so pretty in those last photos I captured. Those warm tones have me dreaming of summers on the island.

LEFT TO DO IN THIS SPACE

  • Select sheeting and headboard fabric

  • Frame and hang Nantucket photo above bed

  • Install picture light

  • Decide on nightstands

  • Install closet systems and better lighting in both closets
