Can we just stop and pause over the glory that is May in New England?! I flipped that calendar page to May and in perfect unison, the New England landscape is giving us May flowers, green grass, and warmer days ahead! It’s been so beautiful here and the promise of our New England summer is on the horizon.
This month, I’m opting to stay closer to home since my summer is going to be travel heavy. I’m so excited to get out and enjoy some favorite haunts and “new to me places” for the first time once June arrives. Before we delve heavy into New England travel once again, I’m taking the month of May to highlight a few things that I’ve been wanting to feature around here.
So without further ado, here’s what’s coming up on Kristy & New England for May…

As I stated —not a heavy travel month here, but I will be featuring some closer to home places that are just lovely in the spring. Along that train of thinking, I will be highlighting some fun activities to do too.
GET OUT ON WATER—Boating and sailing enthusiasts and curious onlookers rejoice! Did you know that you don’t have to own a boat to get out on the water?! There are plenty of places all across the country that offer you access to boating and sailing. I’ll be featuring this on my blog and my Instagram this month and it’s a great entry into boating if you are wanting to know more or even if you already have your boating license.
MY FAVORITE CONNECTICUT TOWNS IN THE SPRING— With the weather getting nice, I’ll be taking you along on my day trips and weekend adventures all around our beautiful state. I have my favorites this time of year, so I’ll be sure to share some photos on Instagram of them and a round-up on the blog.
SUMMER TRAVEL GUIDES— After a few years of traveling around New England, I’ve definitely found my favorites that I return to every summer. I’m working on some travel guides to share with you soon to highlight them and give you some ideas for your next New England road trip.

I’ve been introduced to some new brands this month that I’m excited to share with you! Everything from the perfect ball caps, classic prep staples, to totes perfect for the boat or beach.
BALL CAPS THAT WON’T RUIN YOUR BLOW-OUT—I’m a huge fan of wearing a ball cap in the summer—because 40’s and anti-aging and the fact that I have always worn them. I have a great New England brand that I just know you will love and I will be sharing their collection this month.
PREP IN MY STEP— Some things are always in style and I have the perfect pieces to share with this Nantucket staple brand to get you in the warm weather spirit. Beach cover-ups and classic tunics worthy of dinners on the beach or just outings around town.
DRESSES AND MORE—Feminine dresses that will be perfect to wear now and all summer long and one of my go-to bags for every day with new designs that say summer in New England.

We’ve been plugging away on that sunroom, and I’ve been working there almost everyday this week. Also, some spring sips to add to your “I gotta try that” list.
SUNROOM PROGRESS—Soon—like this week soon—I’ll be sharing the progress on this little home project and sharing a few favorite decor additions to this space. Nautical and classic!
SPRING SIPS— Another spring sip for you to enjoy this month that will make you bubble over with joy! Ha, maybe you know by that clue what kind of sip I will be featuring next!
