Exploring New England in 2020

We’ve been enjoying our winter here in Connecticut and I’ve been contemplating all that 2020 will bring in regards to travel and work. This post will be in place of my monthly editor’s “Notes” post, since I’ve been on a tiny break for basketball season lately.

This weekend, a fresh blanket of white and mild temperatures made for the perfect day to be outside and we spent our Sunday taking the boys sledding and playing out in the snow. I am going to go out tomorrow and capture some more winter scenes from our historic little town, but for today I wanted to share with you what is on my New England agenda for 2020.

We just celebrated the three year mark a couple of days ago of when we moved to Connecticut. In the past three years, we have found some places we love and have added some more places of interest to check out.

Here are the places we are going to travel to and share in 2020:

NANTUCKET | BLOCK ISLAND | MYSTIC, CT FROM THE WATER | WATCH HILL, RI

BASIN HARBOR | MORE CT SHORE TOWNS | PORTSMOUTH, NH | NEWPORT, RI

KENNEBUNKPORT, ME | MANCHESTER, VT

Some of these are repeats from last year and some are places we have never been to before. Even though we did Nantucket and Basin Harbor last year, we fell in love with these locations and want to spend more time enjoying them. Our boys voted for Basin Harbor on Lake Champlain for our summer family vacation and we are more than happy to oblige.

I’ve been wanting to do more travel writing and work on my photography. Those are always goals of mine, but I am making it a point in 2020 to try to cut more time out to focus on them.

I have a couple of freelance writing jobs that focus on New England travel and I am excited to share those with you this year.

I will still be partnering with brands that fit the New England lifestyle and have some 2020 partnerships I will work into my content here and on my Instagram. Last year, I got to meet and discover some amazing brands and the people behind them and I am excited to do the same this year.

I’ll leave you with some photos from my Sunday outing here in town. The Cove is so lovely with the all the snow. It’s the perfect time of year to pop on a bright red coat and warm pom pom hat and get out and enjoy the winter landscape.
