With March arriving and temps predicted to be in the 50’s & 60’s soon; I have the spring bug! I’m starting a whole bunch of home projects, and have been editing my closet. I just donated a lot of clothing, and I’m only keeping things I know I will wear again and again. I feel like I go through this every season, but I’m really trying to live more simply with what I wear daily.
I’ve been leaning into my personal style more and more, and it’s been refreshing to work with a smaller closet. As I get older, I am curating a wardrobe that will hang with me in my late 40’s and 50’s. I love my daily mix of late, and I’m looking forward to my summer threads.
We have some big renovations and smaller home projects at Foxhill House this year. We are renovating our kitchen and bathrooms (I hear a sound of applause in head every single time I say that!). This has been a long time coming. We put it off last year because of life happenings, but are full steam ahead this spring. I’m so looking forward to creating thoughtful spaces that flow seamlessly with the rest of our home. A touch of coastal and nautical design mixed in with classic traditional surfaces and materials.
Here’s what’s on my personal spring wish list & why…

NAUTICAL ART |
Some smaller touches I’m adding around our home…I love nautical art so much. This vintage framed ship art, small framed whale and ship painting, and framed whale and ship art are going to be worked into our spaces this spring.
AROUND THE HOUSE |
This blue striped wallpaper is what I have selected for our powder room on the first floor. It’s great for a bathroom because you can just wipe it clean with soap and water. It’s getting installed this week, so I will show you the progress soon.
Once the snow melts and we can do our spring clean-up, I’m adding in more of these nautical Adirondack chairs and this Adirondack chair lounging set in our backyard. We are going to add in more landscaping once the planting season arrives, and we want to make this an oasis.
I’m looking for some new pillows for our sofa on our screened-in porch, and love these double-sided striped pillows. Seriously considering…Also, on the porch, I want to add in some potted topiaries, and I really like the look of these terracotta planters.
For the spring and summer, I want to bike more and love this beach cruiser and this bike basket.
SPRING CLOSET |
I already have most of these sweaters in my closet. This classic oatmeal rollneck, striped rollneck, and off-white cableknit rollneck. Also, this classic RL navy flag sweater is in the regular rotation. These look great layered over a classic blue oxford too.
I just added this spring trench coat to my annual wardrobe. I love the fit, the lining, and it’s warm but not too bulky.
I’m leaning into more classic denim lately. These straight jeans are an easy pick. I do size one size up, because they run small. A simple white tee and a jacket are all you need with these.
For accessories this spring, I’m reaching for my polo hats and love this nautical navy scarf. Also, I just brought all my boat totes out for the season. I love the classic navy and the all natural canvas totes for spring.
I have these raffia mesh ballet flats, and I am ordering these woven flats for another option.
Happy almost spring!
xx Kristy
