Happy weekend! We arrived home from Nova Scotia this week. We were busy exploring away, and I can’t wait to share more with you soon.
I blocked off a few days this week from work, because I have some things to get done. We are in back to school mode and back in the busy season. I love this time of year so much, but after being gone for a week, we both needed a day to decompress.
I had a lot of running around to do with the both our sons for BTS, one going back to college and one now entering high school. It’s going to be a fun four years for our youngest, and we love watching our him play soccer. Also, it will be nice to be a homebody and in town for a few weeks after all this back to back summer travel.
Here’s what caught my eye this week…
ONE
This monogrammed bed pillow…
I’ve been refreshing and getting the house ready for the busy season once again after our more relaxed summer, and I just added this monogrammed pillow to our bed. I love the size and the monogram font. It’s a perfect match with our bedding.

A classic pairing…
When I get back from Nova Scotia, I’m going to start transitioning my closet. I like to leave in some warm weather pieces, but bring in some more pants, jeans, and blazers for layering this time of year. Here in Connecticut, one day in August or early September can feel like summer and one day can feel like fall, so I like to have some options. The classic striped shirt and navy blazer pairing is a go-to for me and it looks great with jeans. I packed this for our time here in Canada too.

A classic trench coat in khaki & chocolate brown…
I have this khaki trench coat and I really love the new chocolate brown color. I think this will be a great piece to mix into your fall wardrobe.

Some great basics on sale…
J. Crew Factory is always good for basics and they just sent over a few new things for me to try. Here are my favorites. Winners are definitely the cotton camp pants (I love the army green color) and the high-rise girlfriend chino. Here’s some favorites from their August collection.
