A Stay at Addison Choate in Rockport, MA

Recently, we traveled to Rockport, Massachusetts and stayed a couple of nights at Addison Choate, a boutique hotel right in the heart of town. We loved our stay here. The owners, Marshall and Courtney, have put so much thoughtful detail into every aspect of the rooms and amenities. This hotel has everything you’d want for a comfortable and stylish escape.

Here are all the details for you…

The Grounds

Upon arrival, I was instantly drawn to the long porch that runs the length of the hotel. It’s a lovely spot to enjoy a drink or your morning breakfast. The tables have been spaced out for social distancing and sanitized before and after every use. Before we settled into our room, we enjoyed a complimentary refreshment on the porch catching that summer breeze.

Addison Choate has a great location too. It’s a short walk to Dock Square, Motif. No 1, and Bearskin Neck. Also, great for getting to the area beaches. I loved that I didn’t have to worry about parking for our visit and we were in close proximity to places we wanted to visit.

Also, they offer bicycles for your use and that’s another fun way to see Rockport. Each bike has a helmet and lock in the basket.

The Room

For our stay, we were in a lovely room on the first floor called “Wide Berth”. All the rooms have fun nautical names which was a nice touch. Every room at Addison Choate has a very comfortable Nest Organic mattress and bedding. I had to ask about the bed because it was so wonderful and I slept so soundly each night!

Every room is outfitted with a Keurig coffee maker and K-cups, a mini fridge, and Young Living oils and a diffuser. A flat screen TV and WiFi access are great modern amenities too.

All the bathrooms at Addison Choate have been recently renovated with marble tile. They are gleaming new and beautiful. Beekman products are for your personal use.

The Common Areas

The hotel is actually a historic home and there are so many lovely spaces to enjoy. You’ll love the mix of old world charm with bright modern touches.

To Start Your Day

Breakfast is included with your stay and it is the perfect start to your day. Warm pastries and croissants, fresh fruit, homemade granola and yogurt, eggs, cured meats and more are offered.

Each day, they hang a selection menu on your door and you just check off your choices and what time you’d like to have breakfast. In the morning, your breakfast is waiting for you to take outside or back to your room. Everything is contactless due to COVID safety measures. Marshall and Courtney are on top of making sure masks are worn inside and everyone is practicing good social distancing. They even wore gloves when helping guests with more coffee.

During our stay at Addison Choate, we felt completely at ease and worry-free. The hotel was immaculate and COVID protocols were being practiced consistently. Our room was so cozy and well-appointed. The breakfast was great and I’m such a sucker for a warm croissant when I’m traveling.

Marshall and Courtney were so kind and warm and gave us great tips on places to visit. I admired their attention to detail and appreciated the thought that went into appointing the rooms and decorating the hotel. I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Rockport. We’ll definitely be back when we visit again.
