A Stay at the Omni Mount Washington Resort

Recently, we had the pleasure of a late summer stay at the Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, New Hampshire. Truth be told, this place has captured my curiosity ever since we moved to New England. It was immediately added to the “must experience” list.

The property is a step back in time with all the luxuries of today. It’s a time capsule, yet a place that has stood the test of time. It’s steeped in history. Famous figures have walked the floors. It really is a New England treasure and we quickly discovered the appeal and lure of this historic hotel.

Here’s an insider look at our stay…

The drive here was absolutely breathtaking from our little town in Connecticut. We passed through some of my favorite haunts in Vermont and then once we crossed into New Hampshire the White Mountains greeted us.

Safety First

Upon arrival, I was immediately impressed with the COVID safety precautions the hotel had taken. They had hand sanitizer stations and social distancing markers in place. Everyone was respectful and wore a mask indoors. All employees wore masks and the waitstaff wore masks and gloves. We felt completely at ease and safe.

Our room was spotless and they supplied extra masks and wipes for our use. The robes were professionally cleaned and remotes were packaged and marked sanitized for the television.

Outside on the veranda, we could go without our masks because the seating arrangements were nicely spaced out and there were plenty of places to enjoy the views on the lawn too.

Activities

The Omni Mount Washington offers so many outdoor activities! An award winning golf course, disc golf, fly fishing, horseback riding, ATV rides and hiking just to name a few. Being in the fresh mountain air and enjoying nature come hand in hand with a stay here.

We had our boys with us, so we chose to do some horseback riding, hiking, and an ATV ride.

Safe Dining Options

There are 4 restaurants operating in the hotel right now. The Main Dining Room is a great place to have a full breakfast every morning. It’s been newly renovated and is quite lovely.

We chose to take most of our meals outdoors though. Stickneys is the steak and seafood restaurant on site and offers a lunch and dinner menu with outdoor seating. We dined here both nights, but it was too dark to take good photographs at our reservation time since the sun was going down.

One day, we grabbed a boxed lunch from the on site cafe Morsels and had a picnic by the river.

Another option if you want some light bites is to order an appetizer and some drinks from the Rosebrook Bar and enjoy them outside on the veranda.

Other Amenities

Next time we visit, I’d love to take advantage of the new spa. I wanted this trip’s activities to be centered around our boys since they headed back to school the following week. That spa is calling to me though!

We did take advantage of the indoor pool while it was raining. Our boys also enjoyed the arcade and air hockey while we waited out the showers.

We enjoyed our stay here so much and we want to plan a fall foliage or winter stay back here soon. It’s definitely one to add to your travel list!

A big thank you to the Omni Mount Washington Resort for hosting our family. All opinions and photographs are mine.

Until next time,

Kristy
