I had the opportunity recently to be part of a photo shoot for Shop Navy Bleu and Chappy Wrap at the spectacular Ocean House in Watch Hill, Rhode Island. When this trip was originally planned, it was in a pre-COVID world. We were lucky to still be granted access to this beautiful property right before their summer re-opening and have our shoot. I have to admit that it was quite special to feel like the only ones there. I mean how many times in life are you going to feel like you have a Relais & Chateaux resort all to yourself?!
The Ocean House is a gem of luxury here in New England. The grounds are impeccable, the sand on the beach is soft as can be, and the views are idyllic. It underwent a massive reconstruction in years past and was saved from ruin. Every detail is SPECTACULAR. You can read an article about the reconstruction here. All rooms are well-appointed and beautifully designed. Everything you could possibly need is provided. The service and staff are top notch. The dining is phenomenal. There’s also a spa…maybe next time! It’s one of the most luxurious locations to stay at in all of New England. We had a chance to shoot in several locations in and around the hotel. This will be a tad longer than my usual posts, but there are so many beautiful photos from the shoot.
Here are my favorites…
I was joined on this shoot by Claire, Caitlin, Nina, and Jen who I felt like I already knew in real life because of our interactions on Instagram. It was wonderful to meet up and I had so much fun getting to know everyone better. We have such an amazing community of creatives here in New England. Also, Kim from Shorelines Illustrated joined for the day which was a fun surprise. I have so much love for these women. The best part of being in this creative community is the friendships that form. It was a day full of fun collaboration and creativity—my favorite! We had the talents of Julia Dags photographing our day.
Shop Navy Bleu and Chappy Wrap hosted this shoot and they are two of my favorite small brands here in New England. The women behind these brands are so inspiring and down to earth too. It was such a pleasure to work with them and get to hear their brand stories.

What a beautiful day we ended up having for our shoot. It was such a nice harbinger of summer. Getting those toes in the sand and feeling the breeze off the ocean was a welcomed sensation. I’m definitely wanting to get back to the Ocean House this summer at some point. I was able to see some of the town and grab a bite before I had to head home and it’s going to be in my travel plans now for sure.
I can’t thank Erin from Shop Navy Bleu and Beth and Christina from Chappy Wrap enough for inviting me to join in on this little adventure. It was so great to finally meet them in person and enjoy a day together in such a perfect New England location. You guys are getting a little sneak peek at the new summer collection for Chappy Wrap too. Also, a special thanks to the Ocean House for a lovely lunch and hosting us for this special day. Here’s to many more summer days with toes in the sand with friends! Cheers!
