The Friday Five | 4.19.24

Happy Friday! Have you been out enjoying the spring weather? We have had the most beautiful week here in Connecticut and it finally feels like the good weather is here to stay. We are dreaming of the al fresco dinner nights on the patio and trips to all our favorite New England places.

Here’s what I’ve been enjoying this week from the world of travel, style, and interiors…

ONE

Daffodils in Newport, RI

The end of last week, we popped into Newport for a function for our son and enjoyed the blooms in our free time. There are so many great spots in Newport that have an abundance of daffodils right now. It’s worth the visit if you are able to jaunt over for the day soon. There are pretty daffodil views all along Cliff Walk, all around town, on the wharves, and more fields along First Beach.

I shared another favorite New England daffodil spot last week, and you can read my favorite spots to take in the blooms in my Daffodil Days Essex, CT post.

TWO

White dress kick…

Now that it officially feels like spring, I’m on a major white dress kick! One of my favorite pairings for spring and summer is a crisp white cotton or linen dress paired with a pop of red, blue, or yellow. I’ve found some good ones lately and I will share how I styled a few more soon.

You can see how I styled these two J. Crew dresses in my J. Crew Favorite Finds post. I’m linking some of my current favorites for you here too.

Tuckernuck stalking…

There are a handful of online retailers I visit on a regular basis, and one I seem to frequent the most is Tuckernuck. They just do a fab job of curating great brands and styles and always have a fresh take on each season. They seem to be my first visit when I’m getting ready for a trip or event. The Tuckernuck Label is really well done too. I’ve been so pleased with everything I’ve ever purchased from them.

It seems like once spring and summer travel planning happens, like clockwork, I checkout what’s new on their site. So, what happened? The weather here started getting really nice and we have some spring and summer travels to prepare for and there I type into my browser “tnuck”….

Here’s a few things that I am loving and on my virtual wishlist right now…

This needs a moment in my home…

Behind the scenes here in my free-ish time I’ve been working on design plans for more of our home projects. I’ve been looking at so many wallpaper samples lately for our upstairs and a powder room. I saw this striped grasscloth and I know it needs a moment in our home. I’m thinking upstairs in our hallway since we have some fun angles and ceilings to play with there…maybe…just maybe…

FIVE

Scalloped Vanity?

We have another bathroom and our kitchen that I’m finalizing the plans on and this scalloped vanity is just too cute. I’m trying to decide if this is what I want to go with in the smaller upstairs bathroom.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! We had a little rain here this morning, but it’s going to be another nice stretch of weather the rest of the week. I feel so motivated to get outside and work on our yard. Enjoy!
