Foxhill House Renovation Update no. 002

Here’s our home reno update for the week…

You can read about our home renovation plans HERE or see our first reno update HERE if you would like to get caught up.

After getting back from Nantucket, we started working on the shiplap around the staircase. We had to stop because Topher had to fly to Chicago for a few days for work, but we are finishing it up when he gets home this week. We’ll have a lot of finish work and I have a lot of painting to do, but it’s going to look so good when it’s done.

We just have a few smaller cuts to make and a long cut to make in the hallway. Then we will install the corner finishing pieces and I can paint everything. It already feels so much fresher and I love the coastal touch to our walls.

Topher really wants to add it to the back wall for the breakfast nook and around the French doors out to the sunroom too…I think I’m going to get onboard with that idea…

The wall hook arrived for the entry way and we put that up and I had a little fun playing around with our summer things. I love the scale of this coastal wall hook rack. It comes in natural and white.

I am really liking it on that beautiful Victoria Larson wallpaper from Cailini Coastal. This is the Nantucket print in blue.

I still need to get to our local flooring supplier to look at some options for the stair runner. Hoping to get that done before we leave for family vacation in August. We had a good run (typed that and laughed in my head) with this antelope runner from Karastan, but it’s time to replace it.

I did start painting the interior of the stairwell, but I haven’t decided on what I want to do here yet. I think I’ll know better once I land on the stair runner.

I did order a chair for my desk over the weekend which will be on the wall with the bookcases. I’ve been using one of our breakfast nook chairs lately. I didn’t want anything too office chair looking, so I opted for this chair from Serena & Lily.

Riviera Rattan Chair

I made a change to one of the pillow fabrics I selected for our sofa and eventually a fabric on the new chairs…I am stuck on 3 chair options right now and I can’t decide…going to try to do that soon too. Just need time to sit down with it and look at each chair option in our space.

I was making decisions for the dining room last week and the wallpaper has been ordered. That will be a fun one to share with you soon too.

Up next…

I’ll share an update next week once we get the walls done. Hopefully, I’ll have time to nail down the stair runner, chairs, and possibly a new rug too. I’ll share an updated moodboard with the new fabric picks for you to see too.
