Back at it this week…
We had a birthday to celebrate this past weekend, but Monday we got back to work on our living room and entry way. Here’s some updates for you!
If you’d like to see the progress from the beginning here are all the posts on our first project of this home renovation:
The Befores of our Living Room & Entry Way
Samples for the Chairs
Last week, I landed on the style of chairs I wanted for our living room. I’m going with a classic spool chair, specifically the Shiloh Spool Chair from Ballard Designs.
Here are the samples for the fabric. I’m going to decide between a classic wood finish or a white wood finish that will match our breakfast nook chairs.
Pillow Covers Arrived
The pillow covers from Arianna Belle arrived for the sofa and chairs this week. The down inserts should be coming soon today or tomorrow. I love the fabrics on these…the Schumacher Chiang Mai in Blue and the Brunschwig & Fils Les Touches in Cadet have been favorites for years.
Painting
We have the shiplap installed around the staircase and we are going to decide if we want to move forward with it on the back wall too. I have all the painting to finish before we leave on vacation. I’m keeping it a warm white like on the other walls with Benjamin Moore Simply White.
Coming up…
I meet with the flooring people today to decide on the stair runner. I may bring some samples back home and live with them this week before I make any final decisions.
I’m going to order the chairs now that I have the samples to help make those final fabric and finish selections.
Besides installing the new artwork, furniture, and decor…these spaces are coming together and I’ll be sharing all the details and shooting them this year. I might share a few of the details before they are completely finished. Since I dragged my feet on the chairs, those will have a longer lead time, so it may be fall when I shoot the completed spaces with the chairs included. I wish I wouldn’t have been so indecisive on those…but I feel good about the choice now.
I’ve started the selections for the dining room which is the next space we are tackling. I’ll be sharing the design board and beginning stages of this space this September.
We discussed our timeline this week and we are on a waitlist with our contractor, so it is pushing the kitchen and bathroom into 2024. So the new goal mark is to have the entry way, living room, and dining room finished before the holidays. The kitchen and breakfast nook for spring 2024 and upstairs bathroom fall 2024. Then, we will be moving upstairs and planning the addition.
I’ll share another update next week…
