Foxhill House Renovation Update no. 006

This week, we started installing the shiplap along the back wall of the living room and breakfast nook. We just have some finish work and painting to do next weekend, and then I’ll be sharing all the details and the room reveal!

Since the only other rooms I’ve touched in this house so far are our bedrooms, it’s so nice to have another space that we really love. It feels like us. Also, it’s been fun to work on together. I can’t wait to share all the specifics with you soon!

Here’s what we accomplished on our home reno this week…

Shiplap Installation Along Back Wall

As I shared in last week’s update, we decided we wanted the shiplap to carry through a bit more and ordered more to install along the back wall of the living room & breakfast nook. It’s almost finished! We just have finish work to do, and then I get to install the decor and start sharing these spaces with you.

I’ve been playing around with some of the pieces and I can’t wait to officially install everything!

Writing Desk & Bookcases

I set up my desk since I’ve been with out a proper work space since we started this reno this summer. I’m not going to bring my desktop down here, but for video calls and writing, I love having a set-up in this space. Not sure if I’ll keep it like this, but I am leaning into the desk positioned like this for awhile. I had You’ve Got Mail on in the background the other day while I was editing, and it inspired me to have my desk against the bookcases.

Coming up…

I am flying out for a brand trip, and then I will be back for the weekend to get our living room and entryway install finished. I will be sharing these spaces soon this September along with all the interior decor and details.

Next, we are starting our dining room. I’ll share the befores once we wrap on sharing the living room. The wallpaper and furnishings are starting to arrive for that space, so more about that soon. The goal is to have it done for the holidays and then break from home projects during that time. I just want to enjoy that time without a mess. Then, this 2024 we are tackling our kitchen and upstairs bathroom. The big major changes we are saving for the new year.

If you’d like to see the progress from the beginning, here are all the posts on our first project of this home renovation:
